WIRE ROPE BARRIERS (WRBs)
Do you know of any incidents of injury or death relating to WRBs and motorcyclists? If so, please contact Thug. These barriers are soon to be rolled out along highways throughout East Gippsland. The Paynesville road is to have several kilometers of them. Soon they will be everywhere. The object appears to be for VicRoads to remove motorcyclists from the roads one way or another. Recently, Brendan Jenkins went on the ABC radio to report how these barriers will save the lives of motorists and motorcyclists !!! Try hitting one - the least you will get is an amputation! And it doesn't have to be your fault. We have all been squeezed off our lane at one stage or another and that's all it takes, because they are placed so close to the road verge as to be unavoidable.

MT. BULLER IN THE SUMMER.
The Mercure Grand Chalet at Mt. Buller has contacted
us with an offer for the group or individuals to stay on the mountain
during summer, cost is from $140.00 per night double/twinshare including
cooked breakfast. Again we have the details if anyone interested.

HELP NEEDED ***
We need some more suggestions for places to go for rides, Towards the East one month and towards the West the
next month. This makes it fair for all. These rides are what our group is all about so come on and makes some
suggestions, by contacting us with your ideas.

membership application forms from Ulysses and note that subscriptions
have risen. Joining fee is now a one off payment of $20.00 and the three
year membership is now $60.00. Call us if you would like any of the

We need items for insertion into the newsletters. If you have any
suggestions or ideas, please send them to us. This is your
newsletter so come on - contribute something! E.g. Jokes, handy
hints, news items, recipes, photos or anything else.
They can be posted, emailed or give us a phone call. The more items
we have the more interesting we can make this newsletter.
Also photos & articles wanted
for the Website - send us a photo of your first bike
or your best bike, your last ride or whatever (and a bit of a story
too would be good). We need content to make the newsletter and Website
enjoyable and interesting not only for the EGRG but everyone.
The Website has more visitors per month than we have members in
the club, so help us make it work for everyone!
